From the spec IPad/IPhone seems to support both .mp4 and .ogg files.

It might be a javascript problem, but it's quite difficult for me to track it down, even to startup a IPad emulator you need a macosx machine (or VM), that i don't have at the moment... i'll try to allocate some time to test it...

It works on Chrome for Android (4.2.2) but not on iOS. That's probably because iOS requires a sound on user event to initialize sound playback. I assume they do this to discourage annoying website background music.

@MrGamer iOS supports an array of proprietary formats, but not .ogg.

.wav, .mp4, .m4a, .mp3 are all supported. But .ogg or .opus? Those probably won't be added soon.

I just tested 0.5.6 on iOS 7 & 8 beta 4. It works on both systems, if you provide a format supported by iOS. Autoplay will probably never work on iOS, but I presume that wasn't a part of the original issue.

FYI: @pherold Chrome on iOS uses Safari's renderer, so it isn't really the Chrome you know from desktop-land. It's limited by the same constraints as Apple's native browser.
