@bcalatoz Hey, thanks for reporting the issue. Can you please elaborate more how did you came to a conclusion that Podman Desktop is to be the problem causing delays in unlocking the screen? There is no Podman desktop mentioned in the windows logs. Also, you are mentioning "Podman installed", this is Podman Desktop repo, so which one is it?

I tried the latest Podman Desktop 1.10.2 (and Podman 5.0.2) installed on my Windows 10 machine and I do not see any problem with locking/unlocking the screen.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I installed podman on several windows 10 machines including mine. It seemed to be fine for a while but then after a week or so it started. Once i lock my machine it takes exactly 10 minutes before the screen unlocks. On a start up it works fine however it is when you LOCK THE SCREEN is where it takes the time. @bcalatoz Understand. I would like to test the problem with these steps in order to get the reproducible scenario:
0. Having bare metal (laptop) with Windows 10

1. Install Podman desktop (1.10.3) which is latest version and it also brings Podman 5, not 4.9.x which was installed as part of 1.7.x Podman Desktop. Since you have not mentioned the version specified I would test the latest available
2. Install Virtualization Machine Platform Windows Feature in order to create a podman machine
3. Restart of the host is required
4. Install Podman 5.0.3 via Podman Desktop
5. Create and start a podman machine via PD (on cli it would be podman machine init --now --rootful)
6. Close the PD to the background
7. Wait for a couple of days
8. Play around locking the screen and login in eventually, observing for any delays

Does it look right to you?

Also, some other information could be useful:
podman machine ls --format json
podman info

P.S. Even though this truly looks like a podman issue and should be reported in their respective repo, I would like to test this first.

I run an MSP and we do not use PODMAN. We are experiencing this exact issue across multiple customer sites. We have an open ticket with MS support who are practically useless. Are you sure it is PODMAN causing your problem.

Well it seems that every computer that has podman installed has this issue. I am going to uninstall podman on my laptop then see if i still have an issue. This is driving us crazy. its driving us mad also. are your computers joined to an AD domain. All of ours are and they are all running Windows 10. No Windows 11 PCs are impacted.
