I don't think I need permission to take an open source project or published docker container and make a template for it in unraid.

I don't believe I've put a donation field in for any of my newer templates I've put up either.
I think it's a silly thing and should be removed from the unraid templates entirely honestly.

In the entire time i have had templates published I have received one donation for someone that thanked me for making the template (not the program/app) because they couldn't get it to work without it. And I think it was $5.

My templates are certainly not making an impact on the funding these projects receive.

If any developer has an issue w/ the donation link I'll gladly remove it.
Heck, even if you or someone else wants to do a PR to remove the donation links from any existing templates I have, I'll merge it. I have too much going on in my personal life to go through and remove them, but if it's bothering someone I'll happily take them out. I don't ever expect to receive a donation but there was a spot for it, and Squid's Community Apps puts it there, so why wouldn't I have filled it out?

Fair enough. Im good mates with the author of RickRoll. I wanted to ask you this as one of my apps went in the store, and the template author got a bunch of donations for it. But all good. Cheers.

Just for peace of mind, I checked and the Rickroll template I have posted does not have any donation information in it at all -- and hasn't ever.
https://github.com/CorneliousJD/Docker-Templates/blob/master/rickroll.xml

Only some of my very first templates had donation link data in it and I only filled it in because it was an option and I had a paypal donate link setup for other things, so I tossed it in, but I haven't put that in any templates I've put up for years and years at this point.

Squid on the unraid team built community apps so people can publish templates, and it makes the community honestly thrive, but if you would like to see donation links removed outright he would be the guy to contact, I have no control on that, I just publish templates for apps I want to use or see on the community apps section of unraid.
