forked and branched to demonstrate (http://github.com/champness/cuke4duke/commit/e60fa95481c0c37a3f4904a73b9d73dc3a9acf97). Please note changes to examples/groovy/features/step_definitions/CalculatorSteps.groovy and
examples/groovy/build.xml. To replicate, just run the default target of examples/groovy/build.xml.

This is actually fixed. You're still seeing the error because you are running with ant, which pulls down the previous released cuke4duke-0.1.2.jar which doesn't have the fix. If you run with Maven as described on the Contributing page (make sure you point to a source copy of cucumber master) this will now work.

When I make new releases of cucumber and cuke4duke this will all be solved.

You also removed the build.xml file. I'll just move build.xml~ to build.xml and all should be good.
