This makes sense for Domains, for sure, but perhaps not for full URLs.

After some consideration and discussions with others I would agree that this does not really make sense for URLs as network connections are not actually made to URLs, rather they are made to Hosts that can be referenced either with a Hostname or a address identifier. Even for the domain side of this issue, domain names are really only relevant for network connections when they are also Hostnames.

As such, I think it makes sense to keep the existing ability to specify an address identifier for the connection source and destination but to also add a new optional Hostname construct.
