I didn't run your example, but it's probable that a string to Date conversion function is missing.
The start and end time the calendar is manipulating must be Date instances (see tests samples).
Here you are relying on the browser to decode the date string into a real Date instance.
It is recommended in your case to set the encodeDate/decodeDate properties to encode/decode the dates.
You can use dojo.date.stamp.fromISOString() and dojo.date.stamp.toISOString() function to help you.

I can't reproduce the issue with your sample. I will be closing this waiting either for a sample that does reproduce it (in particular your sample is missing the encodeDate/decodeData as suggested by Damien) or at least a bit more information. Thanks for your interest in the calendar.
