I got how to do it, there is no functionality in RedisClient for auth.

Regarding the connection, I think you can use the constructor for Socket that takes an INetAddress. And you can use getByName(host) as in http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/net/InetAddress.html#getByName(java.lang.String). In case this works would love to have a PR :-) ..

Also, auth is present. Check out https://github.com/debasishg/scala-redis/blob/master/src/main/scala/com/redis/Operations.scala#L156 .. after instantiating a client you can do a client.auth(secret) ..
