Basically the command line instructions are broken, you can't run them as is and get the project working as described. The book even makes note that future versions are not compatible but doesn't say what to do instead.

Am I now supposed to try and work out what I need to do with tools I haven't worked with before?

I was following the instructions on page 13 (using the full downloaded boilerplate, rather than the file content specified in the text). I get the following error no whether I do Run, Build, or Clean:

implies you can echo to the file. Not sure that works as the author expects in powershell.
