Hello @ghivert! Yes it is a bit tedious to have to add that type variable there. The reason for that is so that users can use the parsed data in the case that there are errors
as well as valid data
. Check out the changelog entry for notes about how to upgrade and links to the relevant discussions, I believe that will answer all of your questions. We also added a mapError
function to support use cases like yours, see issue #52.
It looks like the example code you referenced above is from the Ellie example, which I haven’t updated to use the latest version yet (it’s a bit of a pain because I have to publish the star wars API demo as well so I don’t always do it right away). For always-up-to-date examples, you can look in the examples folder. Here’s the star wars example from there.
