Is it possible to use the logic of this tool to create a feat_unlk.dat file from the databases and the system id?
Yes, it should be fairly easy to do. [update_feat_unlk](https://github.com/dimaryaz/jdmtool/blob/main/src/jdmtool/featunlk.py#L150C5-L153) is the function that does all the work. Besides the database and the system id, you will also need: - `security_id`: it comes from `<garmin_sec_id>` in services.xml, but it's just the type of avionics (see [this map](https://github.com/dimaryaz/jdmtool/blob/main/src/jdmtool/taw.py#L11-L28) - except that it uses hex there, while services.xml uses decimal) - `vol_id`: the FAT32 volume ID of the USB drive There is already a `featunlk` script that verifies `feat_unlk.dat` and prints its info, so it would make sense for it to update the file, too. (If you're up for that, you can send a PR; otherwise, I can probably do it in the next few weeks.)
I am afraid that I cannot help, unfortunately I don't speak python (yet). All I can do is give all the feedback I can (G3X Touch and GNX 375) Thanks
hi, any update on this? thanks
Hi! Unfortunately, I need to be careful and make sure that jdmtool gives the user access to exactly what's in the subscription - and it is difficult to justify adding a feature like this one. So I will have so close this. Sorry...
