Sorry, I've never used websolr. If websolr is able to read hstore fields in their string representation I think it can work.

For posterity: Solr presents an HTTP API, and typically it's up to a client interface to interact with it. You could use a Solr client like Sunspot for the integration with Solr, though the use case for indexing a relatively generic feature like Postgres hstore for dynamic columns may be somewhat application specific.

One nice conceptual overlap here is that Solr also has a flexible schema. So it may work well to map hstore key-value pairs directly to Solr document field-value pairs. Then you have the flexibility to query those key-value pairs in Solr as well as in Postgres.

You could also use PostgreSQL native full text indexing and use some database functions to convert the hstore to a text representation that could be indexed. If this approach would suit your needs, of course.

Quite. The salient point being that this kind of integration is possible, and more of an application level concern.
