Single unit purchases about dj-stripe

I'm a little confused on whether or not the project supports single unit purchases. I see it's listed as "forthcoming" right now in the docs, but this issue seems to suggest that it can work, even though it's a bit old.

I'm more interested in the single unit purchases rather than the subscriptions, so I'm curious if this is the project for people like me right now (or very soon?).

Basically, how well do single unit purchases work if at all?
