Ha - thanks. I'm afraid the general consensus around the Tangent office is that DRF is the better choice.
Of course, both libraries are excellent. There's almost no point in having this oscar-api library as they make it so easy to create REST APIs. I know people who have written REST APIs for Oscar sites and it only took them a day or less.
If this particular extension does end up using DRF then I would have no problem with someone else creating a TastyPie equivalent. I might even do it myself.
Closing issue though as I don't think it's ever going to be resolved.
