Mark, you can safely ignore that error for now, as I have pre-compiled a version of Nodem for Node.js 0.10.x, located at nodem/lib/mumps10.node_x8664. Just make sure to copy that to nodem/lib/mumps.node and nodem will work.
That error is because I have the build file in the root of the repository, and that causes npm to try to build it from source, and the build system is kind of broken for Node.js 0.10.x in Ubuntu right now. They changed the way the build files are distributed and used, and it is all still being sorted out.
I have actually implemented lock() and unlock() and will be pushing out a new version very soon. I'll move the build file to a sub-directory, which will get rid of that error when you install nodem on a system with Node.js 0.10.x on Ubuntu. Thanks.
