It is not equivalent in my opinion. The advantage of using SK is that it prevents collapsed solutions and encourages the network to roughly equipartition the current batch into the clusters. Label smoothing does not do that at all.

What are the advantages of using the Sinkhorn-Knopp algorithm instead of cross-entropy loss?

SK is used to generate the pseudo-labels, then the cross-entropy is used in any case, independently of how you generate the pseudo-labels.
