Sounds good. I don’t want progress blocks or anything like that, but having a simple property for the currently running task seems good.
Note that you could also update progress in the task callbacks, so having a property would really just a be a convenience so that you don’t have to keep a variable yourself.
The property probably should be atomic, so it can be hit from different threads.
