Thanks for pointing this out. I'll add a proper fix presently. Not sure about putting punctuation on a separate line/below the last character, that sounds rather counterintuitive indeed.

OK I have updated my version. It highlights punctuation (see https://github.com/ecsplendid/jetzt/tree/HighlightCurrentWord).

It also displays single quote wrappings, detects when a single quote should be part of the word and then displays it.

The pivot is independent of the punctuation

It also fixes the issue we have now where sometimes you will see only "." or ";" displayed as a word
