Installation failure on Debian about anki-sync-server

I can modify the ini file and enable logging, but no log file is to be found. I think the script is crashing before it would be created.

The same behavior occurs with debug as does with start, except the line numbers in the error messages in ankiserverctl.py are nearly identical.

It seems the application requires python-pastescript. To install this globally on Debian...

# apt-get install python-pastescript

This is hinted at in the installation section of the README. I assume there are other dependencies that are missing. Once I figure out what they all are, I'll make a patch for the README.

After getting the dependencies installed -- and for me it was only python-pastescript as mentioned above -- I needed a copy of the Anki source code.

So...

$ cd /var/www/anki/anki-sync-server
$ source bin/activate
(anki)$ git clone https://github.com/dae/anki.git
(anki)$ mv anki anki-bundled
(anki)$ python setup.py egg_info

That gives a few warnings. One warning is because the file MANIFEST.ini has a typo. It has a line with anki-bundle/.git instead of anki-bundled/.git. Use your favorite text editor to fix the typo and try again. At least one warning should go away.

Now running ./ankiserverctl.py debug spawns a server. I haven't tested the server yet, but it's running. Progress!
