I couldn't reproduce your problem.
Running SampleUi DialogActivity on an android 4.2.2 (API 17) emulator gives the expected results.

no_id10 = vc.findViewByIdOrRaise("id/no_id/10")
print "button=", no_id10.getXY()

prints

button= (260, 669)

Furthermore, using the new View.writeImageToFile() method, also gives the expected result.

no_id10.writeImageToFile("/tmp/")

Yes, you are correct. I was using an older version of AndroidViewClient. The behavior I described does not occur on newer versions
