Searching Bug about flatnotes

Sorry for the delay, I've finally had a chance to take a look at this this morning. Unfortunately, I cannot see why "update" is being treated differently than any other word in the example title you gave me. All the other terms work as expected:

• *linux*
• *vm*
• *update*
• *open*
• *suse*
• *servicepack*

Equally, as you pointed out both update* and *update work as well. It's just *update* that is a problem!

Unfortunately, I don't think there's much I can do about this. Whoosh (the full-text search engine used under the hood) is fantastic but doesn't looked to have been touched in a couple of years so I don't think I'll get much from raising an issue there. I am on the look out for a maintained alternative but until then, I'll keep this open as a bug in case someone else can shed some light on it.
