it's cool that you write this here as a reply in an issue, the problem however is if a piece of software, no matter how complex or trivial it is, does not declare itself as "Open" or does not specify which kind of Open, then, from an Open Source licensing perspecitive it's a hot potato.

For example, from your explanation, does that put your Project into the Public Domain?
Public Domain for instance is something that in Europe doesn't have the same protection from the law as elsewhere.
As such you will not find a "WTFPL", or even the "Public Domain" as OSI approved license: http://opensource.org/licenses

I have added the MIT license to this project. Short and simple won me over.
