Hey there, I'm Eliane! 👋🏽 (pronounced: "El-ee-awn-knee")

tldr: see my visualizations here!

I am a Research Analyst at YouGov, working on global tracking and ad hoc studies for the country's largest social media companies. In 2019 I graduated from Stanford University, where I studied philosophy and took significant coursework in journalism and psychology. Since graduating, I have completed a yearlong fellowship with the American Voices Project, the largest qualitative study ever conducted in the US, and assisted three 2020 Democratic campaigns. I am now working on projects related to politics, psychology, and data. Please feel free to send feedback to this relatively new useR!

What I'm up to!

🔭 Currently working on: Fielding a biweekly tracker at YouGov called the YouGov Social Change Monitor. Founded by my incredible managers Lauren Benditt and Ann Comoglio, this survey tracks Americans' changing social attitudes

🌱 Currently reading: ROOM by Emma Donoghue

💬 Ask me about: qualitative research, my favorite books, behavior change

🍄 Hobbies: improv, running, analyzing movies and social dynamics on dating shows (e.g. The Bachelor 🌹, Married at First Sight)

🧠 Abstract things I love doing: integrating my interests and experiences from disparate disciplines into insights... and writing about them (examples: my thoughts on the intersections of Fanonian philosophy and Get Out, on the fundamental attribution error and the truth of determinism, and on Charles Murray's visit to Stanford and free speech)

👯 Active memberships: 2021 RStudio Diversity Scholar, Black TIDES, R-Ladies NYC, Data Visualization Society, Data Ladies Alliance

😄 Pronouns: she/her
