Personally I think this is a good idea. One curiosity is how backwards compatible can the extension be vis-a-vis Ember JS source? In other words, could it be possible that the Extension will not be able to work with older versions of the Ember JS source in order to support some specific feature. May need to consider how that factors into upgrade path with respect to auto updates. If this becomes a real issue, may want to let user opt out if they are using the extension to support a legacy version of their app.

It looks like it auto-updates so this specific issue should be closed. As long as we're on 1.0 things should continue to be backwards compatible. I also think we should be able to maintain backwards compat afterwards, so I think we can close this.
