I can confirm that from enthought.chaco.chaco_plot_editor import ChacoPlotItem works on all my VMs but I am unable to reproduce the original error. @GaryHendrick @gmt2027 @charlesreid1 could you confirm that this ticket can be closed?

closing this ticket as there isnt any update regarding the original issue and this issue seems to have been fixed in newer enable.
