You can use CPPFLAGS to point configure at the folly directory - it probably only looks in /usr/include/folly by default. When you tried to link it, what was the output in config.log?

@djwatson As you said, compiling can keep going.
Why it must need <boost/python.hpp> when I configured without python as following:
./configure CPPFLAGS=-I/home/lee/usr/include/ LDFLAGS=-L/home/lee/usr/lib --prefix=/home/lee/usr/ LIBS="-ldl" --with-java=no --with-python=no --with-perl=no --with-ruby=no --with-erlang=no --with-go=no --with-c_glib=no --with-qt4=no
from fbthrift.
