Just a small note on how I solved problem for now. In module types.jsx I have

type TaskStatus = NotRunning
                | Running
                | Finished
                | ErrorStatus;
exports.TaskStatus = TaskStatus;

Converting it to:

var TaskStatus;  // TODO: remove this hack in future
type TaskStatus = NotRunning
                | Running
                | Finished
                | ErrorStatus;
exports.TaskStatus = TaskStatus;

helps.

I made a tiny, slightly hacky patch for jstransform that generates empty var declarations in place of type declarations - this makes type exports work.

Now that we have export type syntax, it should be possible to define a class locally, not export it, but instead export a type alias for it:

class MyClassImpl {}

// Creates an alias for the type of instances of this class and exports that alias
export type MyClass = MyClassImpl;
