Seems like the solution for now, is to download the jar from SourceForge (had to google around a bit to even found out that I needed to do this, so a note on that in the documentation would not hurt):

Apologies for delayed comment. "mvn package" creates the jar files. Please let me know if that doesn't get you what you need...
