You're right! This seems to be a parser bug where parentheses are required around the yield expression, so in other words

function *fn() {
  var y = x || (yield 10);
}

should transform correctly. The version without parentheses seems unambiguous, so I agree it should work. I'll file a bug upstream with https://github.com/ariya/esprima/tree/harmony and see what they think.
