I updated my function to

function isGenerator(obj) {
  return obj && (toString.call(obj) === "[object Generator]" ||
    // this fallback is here for polyfill runtimes, like facebook/regenerator
    (obj.constructor && 'Generator' == obj.constructor.name))
}

co has done the same.
