Total overlook from my side.
zstd.c should not exist anymore. It's now replaced by zstd_compress.c and zstd_decompress.c (though zstd.h still exists and exposes public interface for both).
I'm going to remove it.

should be fixed in latest dev branch update.
For further comments regarding no-legacy build, I believe it's better to merge this issue into #80, for easier tracking and discussion.
