Making changes

fastlane uses an open source platform called Grow. Follow the installation instructions to get started.

Once grow is installed, cd into _grow and run grow install.

Execute grow run, and open your browser to http://localhost:8080.

Once you're happy with your changes, run grow deploy, which will publish all changes to the root directory.

Installation

grow requires Python 2. The suggested method for running specific versions of Python is pyenv.

brew install pyenv
pyenv install 2.7.14
pyenv local 2.7.14
pip install grow

Grunt fails due to compass

It failed once it could not find the compass binary. Once I ran grunt --force it showed that it required

The initial error is shown below.

expired certificate while downloading fastlane

If I go to download.fastlane.tools I get the following screen:

The schema example might be misleading, missing a gym

It seems odd to me on that schema to have a lane which only calls scan (which will build and run the tests but not create and archive) and then call pilot (which would need an archive/ipa to upload), so I find that 2nd lane in the example schema misleading 😉

Running `npm install` causes an exception

It appears that a preinstall routine for one of the dependencies fails.

Running [sudo] npm install -g phantomjs allowed the build to work. I installed it globally but maybe it is only needed locally. I was expecting npm install to handle the installation of all dependencies. Perhaps this process could be improved.
