Hello and welcome 👋

We haven't found a use case for source maps with the --compact output we produce. Debugging works very well with readable source code. Can you give us an example where you would need it?

Yes, debugging works with JavaScript, but:

  • Especially with projects that have a lot of files, it would be a lot easier to identify the source file if source-maps where present.
  • It's not as easy for scss/css, as the generated code differs a lot from the source material.

Aside from that, it should not be too much work, since all transpilers support source-maps right out of the box, or do you apply some sort of post-processing?

As discussed elsewhere, this has been implemented for a while now (since before v1.0).
