Yes, the assert prevents you from using Object that would be incorrect. The only accepted values are string or number not all Object. Since Dart does not support Union Types, we accept objects then filter out incorrect objects in the assert.

I appreciate your efforts. However, I believe it would be beneficial to clearly indicate the transition from dynamic to Object. This would help prevent any unnecessary confusion.
