What the Package Does (One Line, Title Case)

covid19br

R package providing a function to automatically import the Brazilian COVID-19 pandemic data into R. Brazilian data is available on country, region, state, and city levels, and are downloaded from the official Brazilian repository at <https://covid.saude.gov.br/>. The package also enables one to download the world-level COVID-19 data from the Johns Hopkins University's repository at <https://github.com/CSSEGISandData/COVID-19>.

Repository held by the Department of Statistics of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (http://www.est.ufmg.br/portal/) containing the COVID-19 pandemic data in Brazil. Data sets are daily downloaded/updated from the official Brazilian repository (https://covid.saude.gov.br/) and are made available in binary format (.rds extension) to speed up reading in R. Currently the data are available at national, state, region, and city levels.
