Conflicting information on pre-defined date formats about formatjs

I’d like to note that even the React guide seems to imply the presence of pre-defined date formats until you click to the RENDER tab in this section. I didn’t do this because I didn’t anticipate it would have to be much different from any other render on the page. It’s a classic instance of not knowing what you don’t know.

@alanhogan the Guide is talking about the ICU Message strings, and the default date formats that ship with intl-messageformat, while the specific React Intl example you mention is only formatting a Date, not a message that contains a Date.

Sorry for this confusion, we should look into how to make this more clear that the messages support a few pre-built date formats; e.g., see the MESSAGE tab on this example: http://formatjs.io/react/#getIntlMessage
