What is the popularity of jQuery Validate ? Approximatively ?

As far as I know it's the 'official' validation plugin for jQuery (see docs page here http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Validation). I'm not aware of any others so I guess that would make it pretty popular

there's nothing official about it, it's just been around a while.

i think it would be more reasonable to request that plugin support standardised HTML5 validation attributes. validation is moving to the browser fast enough that i think it would be a bad idea to waste time and bloat on supporting various plugins when a standard exists.

there's already a ticket open on their repo for this: jquery-validation/jquery-validation#785
