Since it concerns any conscripted application, could you close this and reopen it on conscript?
Also could you include specific problem and recommended course of action? If I am reading the article correctly, it seems to be against all forms of software distributions except compiling from gpg-tagged source.

Actually, please don't reopen this on conscript.
If you want to have a discussion about the security tradeoffs of different ways of installing software, I invite you to start one on the conscript mailing list.

fwiw I think github makes viewing source pretty easy and therefore, trustworthy. I would agree with the above if maybe we recommended something like
curl http://bit.ly/trustme | sh
But the source and origin of the script in the readme is very clear.
