My first guess is that you might be running an old version (1.x) of Leiningen - what version are you running (you can find this via lein version)? The lein koan run command only works with lein 2.x.
If that's not correct, your leiningen installation has problems (leiningen.core.main) should be in the installation's uberjar, at something like ~/.lein/self-installs/leiningen-2.5.0-standalone.jar.

Hi thank you so much for your help! It was an issue with the version. I just assumed it would be the latest version that I got from the Leiningen website, obviously not.
