You can customize all card styles.
So you can use a dark theme.

I'm using them of both themes, you only have to change the background of the card and the shadow if you have one

like this

 MyCard.setBackgroundResourceId(R.drawable.dark_card_background);

and this is the xml

 <shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
   android:shape="rectangle">
<solid android:color="@color/card_background_dark"/>
<corners android:radius="@dimen/card_background_default_radius"/>

and the color im using

   <color name="card_background_dark">#1C1C1C</color>
