I think there is the question of how exactly do you want CUERipper to behave? Do you want the cue sheet to contain different metadata than the log and the application's main window?

Right now, the cue sheet has whatever metadata is shown in the application. And the metadata is always sought from external sources, even if you have Options > CTDB > Metadata search set to "None". If no metadata is found, default values are filled in, so there is no such thing as a track with no artist or title. And the user can still manually enter/modify any info themselves. If the user presses the Reload button, the external metadata is fetched again, wiping out any changes they made.

So imagine if there is another button which forces CD-TEXT metadata to be read. What effect will this have on the existing data? Should it completely reset all metadata to the default values and then replace certain values which are found on the disc? What happens when the Reload button is pressed?

Maybe the goal should be not to change the current behavior or add any buttons, but rather to just have the option of writing a separate cue sheet using only data from the disc (CD-TEXT, MCN, ISRCs). This would be an advanced option which you could have to toggle on, because not all CD drives are good at reading this data (at least, that's the impression I get from EAC making it optional).
