DKAN2 roadmap? about dkan2

@stuchl4n3k There is! It's guiding our work at the moment and is currently a bit sloppy while we get it ready for prime time, but we'll be releasing the public roadmap soon. In the meantime, you can expect a first release of DKAN2 sometime in the next month or so, followed by improvements to search, harvesting, and metadata ingestion, among other improvements. More soon!

We are currently preparing an announcement for DKAN 2 that will include some of the information you are asking for.

We are currently planning on launching the first catalog using DKAN 2 in June.

at what stage DKAN2 is currently (e.g. alpha, beta, etc.)

I'm not sure. I would say we are at a "beta" stage for the basic catalog functionality. However we will discuss internally to try and better define that.

when you would expect the virtually production-ready DKAN2 (e.g. RC) to be ready,

I think we will have a production-ready version this Spring. However it will not have all of the features of DKAN.

whether you are planning to provide an upgrade path from DKAN.

We will definitely have an upgrade path. Moving the datasets from DKAN to DKAN2 will be the easiest. It is possible we will be able to move things like users and some of the other internal items. There are some things like the dashboards and visualizations that may need to be done manually. We will see the closer we get to an initial launch.
