Demonstrate how to mock describe_instances for existing instances about moto

reservations = conn.get_all_instances()

reservations will now be a Reservation instance which will have an instances attribute, just like boto.

Is that what you're asking?

To be clear, moto doesn't allow you to mock something like reservations with an arbitrary object.

I was asking how to mock reservations so it returned predefined objects that could be used for testing. Are there any plans to add support for that?

Sorry, that's not really in line with the goals of moto. Moto is designed for getting the 'real' objects back, but with mocked data.

Something like the Mock library should be able to help you do what you want.
