Why Octopress is missing? about pelican-themes

If a pull request hasn't been made, it won't be here. That's down to the developer of the theme. Same thing applies to plugin.

Would you like to help out and submodule in the theme or speak to the theme's developer and get him to do it?

I don't undetstand what's the rationale behind your message @kura we can add a subrepo to the octopress theme without problems.

@ametaireau of course we can but to me it makes sense for the developer of the theme to do it.

What if they had a reason for not putting it in this rep? Maybe they didn't want to or didn't think it was a good idea or right for them?

I think it makes more sense for us to write more information on how to contribute and let them make the decision, rather than assume. Maybe that's just me?

Well, if the theme is public and with an open source license, then we can put it in pelican-themes. If not that's a different story.

Also, "better ask forgiveness rather than permission" is a credo I like to follow. IOW, let's do it and if they don't want it there they'll ask us to remove it.

(Also I don't see any reason why they wouldn't want us to put it here?)

Just checked and their license is MIT so we're good.

No worries. That's fair enough then. I'll do it later tonight if no one beats me to it.

I've been working on documentation for contributing to help people submit stuff so maybe that could be good.

I wasn't trying to say no to doing it, just to me it seemed better to have them submit rather than us doing it. It's a non issue to me.

The only time I see it being a possible issue is if people assume a plugin or theme isn't here because it's bad or we font like it, rather than us simply not knowing it exists. You know?

Yep, gotcha :) Just that I consider this an index, maybe we should build a real index rather than having theis repo ;)

Been working on this too. An index with plugin information and I'd like to do something similar for themes like in that issue I just mentioned you in.
