we use the addItemToDatagrid in our project without any duplicates. You should check that your loop is only looping the necessary time. The way that addItemToDatagrid works is that it will the following code internally

this._dataView.insertItem(row, item);
// refresh dataview & grid
this._dataView.refresh();

and typically, if your item does not have a unique ID, I assume that SlickGrid will throw an error saying that your dataset must have unique ids. So I'm wondering if having exact duplicate (which you mention) is even possible. I think no, so please check your data and your loop.

Another method you can try is a new method that I added some time ago called addItemsToDatagrid which will do the loop itself (it simply calls addItemToDatagrid for the length of the items array passed).

I must also say that unless I have a way to replicate the issue, I cannot really help.

Problem was on my site. I set dataset and called addItemToDatagrid at the same time.
