+1 from me - that would make this excellent converter even more useful for creating Decent Sampler libraries!

I ran into the exact same problem and fix, although I only went as far as manually creating dsbundles from some libraries and then got fed up, so that Python script is immensely useful, @BrokenGravityMusic!

It was introduced in 1.7.5 (released around Feb 2023 as far as i can tell). In the release notes he writes:

Added support for DSLibraryInfo.xml files (blog post coming soon)

But I've not been able to find a blog post on this, nor anything in the docs. Maybe he simply forgot.

I just figured it out from looking at a handful of official sample-packs. I have these packs locally, and they all use it:

• the free Earthquake sounds by David himself (the creator of decent sampler)
• the paid version of Bitscape 95 by Venus Theory and David.
• the free version of Motor Lab from back in September 2023, also by Venus Theory and David

So it seems to be a de facto standard, in spite of lacking docs.

This is a great idea. The creator of decent sampler has dropped by the Surge Synth Team discord server when he implemented SCL/KBM support and also for pointers on cleaning up exposed symbols on the Linux builds. He's very open. I would recommend reaching out to him.
