OK, I haven't found much time to work on this - mostly last weekend.
- We now have a 'bot' mode for Ninja's and a clean module 'Ninja' for use as a library.
- Defining, compiling to, and interpreting a bytecode wouldn't teach the desired lesson. Instead we leverage Hint. to interpret Haskell code. This way a 'bot' could be made that is actually a bytecode interpreter or networked thing that coordinates many bots if someone wanted to get silly.
- There is no 'Ninja' language yet. There are events (
ServerCommands
, not yet cleaned up), a World, and all the possible primitive commands (move, stop, smoke, attack). I started to define 'belts' that would give progressively more power but stopped when I realized I don't have a good lesson plan. - No need for a compiler, this was silly over engineering.
- TBD
- I think we should over wrappers, in the style of the current
WhiteBelt
instead of weakening the problem.
The changes can be pulled any time - it's functional but not a great stopping point.
