Problem with app icon about il-repack

I just did the test with a multi-sized one: 16, 24, 32, 48, 96 (BMP 32 bits), 128, 256 (PNG 32 bits), and both the original and merged file display a large icon in the explorer.
Beware that explorer aggressively caches icons, and I don't know how to reset it beside changing the file name.

If you still confirm the bug, maybe send me the .ico ?

Hi,

After rebooting the machine, you are right, it was an Explorer cache problem. It seems crazy as I deleted and rebuilt the files, so I thought the cache would be reset.

That's surprising, do you have a reproduction project ?
Also AFAIK, icons can be multi-sized, so what do you mean exactly by that ?

Yes icons can be multisized, actually my icon has 256x256, 64x64 and 48x48.

The problem can be easily reproduced if you create a solution with a 256x256 icon for example. Then you can ilrepack the .exe file. You will see that the exe file which is not ilrepacked has a 256x256 icon in windows, however, the ilrepacked exe icon contains only low quality (seems 32x32 to me). If you are in "large icon size" view in Explorer. You will see the difference between the 2 exe.
