I honestly don't think it's worth the effort to modify golint to avoid warning about those. It doesn't happen a huge amount, and humans can easily see that it's okay.

Thanks for the quick reply! I do understand your reasoning but I think any false positives have a negative impact since they make the true warnings less visible. That being said I understand if it's not a priority. What I want to ask you is if you would agree at least conceptually with whitelisting those kinds of errors? If so it's quite possible that I would try to solve this issue while scratching my own itch.

Read the README for this repository. We are okay with some level of false positives. If there are truly too many then the solution would be to remove the noisy check. I don't want significant complexity added to cut down noise, and I think doing what you propose would require significant complexity (or a hokey manual whitelist).
