@w9n Thanks for your comments and the list for troubling references.
Yes, I do have the plan to migrate to .Net Core and is somehow waiting for .net standard 2.0, which I guess will make the migration a lot easier. I will also look at whether some old stuff should be replaced by modern libs.
Are u OK with this library targeting net standard 2, or u need it to be 1.x?

@karldodd I was kind of confused of the net standard 2 process, i need a .net core/4.6 compatible version but experienced that this complicated atm. I hacked together a branch with net standard 1.6, with minor api changes and also had to delete all Database related code to make it work for my purposes.
For now we should wait as standard 2 seems to be at 96% progress :)

When can we expect the merge of #13 and release availability of the package for .NET Core?
.NET Core 2.0 is available: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/2017/08/14/announcing-net-core-2-0/

@Lakritzator I've released a new version (2.0.0-beta) of the package today which now uses .net core 2 rtm and corresponding libraries/references are also upgraded. Please try it out if you need.
I think #13 is almost done and will be merged soon if 2.0.0-beta works smoothly.
