As the brief description of PyPhon, consider changing "Application for High Variability Phonetic Training" to something like, "A highly variable, phonetic training tool for your ears"

Sounds not playing

Hi

can't get the sounds to play when running the python file;
i get this warning:

Consider changing the name of the application

There are issues with the name of this application:

• The thon (in Python) and Phon (in the current PyPhon application name) do not form a minimal pair, which is one of the core building blocks of this application.
• A phone (as in a speech sound) contains an e; PyPhon does not.
• It is programming-language based, and if this project gets ported to another language, Python is embedded in its name. Devil's advocate asks, "What happens when Ruby comes along, ' PyPhonRuby'?"

Consider storing the raw data in another repository or elsewhere

Cloning this repo takes a lot of time and it consumes far too much local space. For example:
$ ls -lh pyphon.zip
-rw-rw-r-- 1 ursula ursula 80M Jun 21 12:49 pyphon.zip

And the raw\ data/ directory contains up to 8M per file.
